mission
envision
envision is a partnership between the Center for Community Health Alignment (name ASPH and USC?). Louisiana State University (name department?) and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (name department?) and University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
Our mission is to support CHW programs and organizations to expand and maximize CHW leadership and the potential of the CHW workforce.
We uplift the CHW workforce and utilize program best practices while applying our collective years of diverse professional and lived experience in realizing our mission.
The envision team uses multiple proven strategies to ensure CHW programs have the opportunity to do their best work and achieve their goals.
We do that by providing training and technical assistance (TA) and facilitating peer to peer connections.
Alongside program consultation, we deliver interrelated services through webinars, small group training, and communities of practice that help CHW programs enhance their skills, improve their outcomes, and learn from one another.
We use a collective approach to uplift CHW leadership and support strategies which promote and support sustainability.
The envision team is comprised of long time CHWs and allies guided by the principle of ‘nothing about us without us’.
We are deeply invested in supporting CHWs and CHW programs in the work they do and have decades of collective experience and skills in all aspects of CHW work and support.
At envision, we believe that health happens on the front porch, at the clinic, and everywhere in between. We meet people where they are. We have lived this life and walked this walk. We are the communities we serve.
envision’s work is Community Health Worker–led and grounded in community expertise.
Community Health Workers based at CCHA and UW PHI, alongside envision CHW Council members, and other CHW partners provide leadership, direction, and accountability throughout the development and implementation of our work.
CHW Council
Council members serve as subject matter experts and provide leadership and knowledge to propel envision’s goals forward.
Our work is guided by a CHW Council of dedicated, experienced CHWs from across the country.
Peer-to-peer learning supports programmatic implementation that is relationship-based with an emphasis on collaboration and co-creation. envision ensures that there is CHW co-creation in this work.
